Hellboy: The Crooked Man

Hellboy: The Crooked Man" seeks to breathe new life into the iconic character but falters due to its low budget, which fails to convey the richness of Hellboy’s world. It resembles a reboot of Harry Potter with the resources of a mediocre CW series. Although, Jack Kesy shines as Hellboy, the supporting cast offers lackluster performances that feel unconvincing. The makeup and special effects come off as cheap, detracting from the immersive experience.

On the plus side, the film’s atmosphere and haunting soundtrack help establish its dark tone, though the overdone sound editing and jump scares lessen the overall impact. Ultimately, it feels more like a fan project than a genuine reinvention, highlighting how a constrained budget can limit a film’s potential, even with sincere effort from the team. This is NO, CIGAR for me.
