Wow, this movie is such a letdown. It’s really bad. I hate to say it, but they strayed so far from the book that it feels like a completely different story. I get that adaptations require some changes for the screen, but they altered major plot points and character arcs. The differences between the "uglies" and "pretties" are barely noticeable; the pretties just look like they’ve had a basic Instagram filter applied. The CGI isn’t even impressive. They also forced in elements from later in the series, creating a confusing mess. It’s clear they had no plans for any sequels, which is frustrating.
