For me, one of the most intense scenes in "Expats" features Nicole Kidman as Claire confronting a local journalist in a dimly lit, cramped apartment. Because this moment captures Claire’s desperation and frustration as she seeks information about her missing son. I am also very amazed of Kidman’s performance as it is both moving and powerful, showcasing her ability to convey both vulnerability and determination. Also, the scene’s claustrophobic cinematography and harsh lighting effectively mirror Claire’s emotional state, deepening our understanding of her character and the film’s themes of isolation and cultural disconnection. Great movie!
